Duties

• Represent employers, insurers, and third-party administrators in workers' compensation claims before the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry and Court of Administrative Hearings.
• Defend employment-related claims in state and federal courts, including wrongful discharge and discrimination claims.
• Handle general civil litigation, including personal injury defense.
• Conduct research, investigation, and analysis of cases.
• Prepare pleadings and manage discovery processes.
• Analyze and summarize complex medical data.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses to present evidence effectively.
• Prepare legal briefs and memoranda for motion, trial, and appellate practice.
• Provide clear and concise reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Appear before various courts and administrative bodies.
• Engage in alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration.
• Participate in business development and client events.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the Minnesota Worker's Compensation Act and Rules of Practice.
• Familiarity with Minnesota and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Experience with motion practice, discovery disputes, and trial preparation.
• Strong negotiation and persuasive skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of Minnesota.
