Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for a fully remote position based in Springfield, MO. The role offers extensive courtroom experience through regular appearances and involves managing a contested litigation queue, reviewing claims, and supporting litigation processes. This position does not require billable hours.

Duties

• Appear in court on behalf of the firm at least three days per week.
• Review new claims for compliance with standards.
• Review and approve court pleadings, including complaints and motions.
• Draft motions and responses for contested matters as needed.
• Argue contested motions and conduct trials and arbitrations.
• Manage communication with opposing counsel.
• Prepare and respond to discovery or oversee counterclaims.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate and admission to the Missouri Bar required.
• Additional licenses in other states are valuable.

Education

• Juris Doctorate

Certifications

• Admission to the Missouri Bar

Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience with Collection Master or similar systems preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
• Demonstrated tact, discretion, and courtesy.
• Ability to work independently and manage timelines.
