Claims Counsel

The candidate will apply experienced insight to private passenger automobile, contract interpretation, multi-state tort law, civil procedure, and litigation matters. Research, draft and communicate insurance coverage opinions. Interface with claims management, corporate legal and regulatory professionals on a variety of claims-related matters. Support claims management with research and analysis of multi-state tort and insurance coverage laws to establish operational policies, procedures, and training programs. Present in-person training sessions to adjuster teams and/or management on a variety of legal topics. Draft form letters and releases. A Juris Doctor with an active license to practice law (any US state) is needed. Should have 3+ years of relevant experience. First-chair (jury trial) insurance defense litigation experience is preferred. Technical understanding of property & casualty insurance principles are required. Strong written and oral communication is needed. Strong legal research skills (Westlaw preferred). Should have the ability to build collaborative working relationships in a smart and dynamic environment focused on getting things done.
