Duties

• Represent clients in a variety of family law matters including divorce, child custody, spousal support, and asset division

• Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and discovery requests

• Conduct legal research and apply up-to-date knowledge of family law statutes and case law

• Attend court hearings, mediations, and trials

• Provide strategic legal counsel and compassionate guidance to clients

• Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and administrative teams to ensure efficient case handling

• Maintain case files and manage multiple caseloads simultaneously

Requirements

• 2–7 years of litigation experience in family law

• Strong understanding of Virginia family law and court procedures

• Ability to manage high-stakes, emotionally sensitive cases

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with clients and court personnel

• Strong organizational and case management skills

• Commitment to providing exceptional legal representation

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active and in-good-standing admission to the Virginia State Bar

Skills

• Excellent legal writing and research skills

• Strong courtroom presence and oral advocacy skills

• Ability to analyze complex legal and financial issues
