McGlinchey Stafford seeks to hire an associate with 3-5 years of legal experience to join our very busy Litigation practice in New Orleans. This role will involve hands-on work across a range of litigation practice areas, including insurance defense, manufacturing, and products liability. This is an excellent opportunity for attorneys looking to further hone their litigation skills while receiving training and mentorship from a partner with deep experience in these practice areas.

Flexible schedules available. While we encourage our attorneys to have a regular presence in the office to promote collegiality and our firm culture, our remote work policy provides for remote work options.

We seek candidates with:

A current, active license to practice law in Louisiana;

an additional license in Texas or Mississippi is helpful

but not required.

3 to 5 years of experience in insurance defense or products liability including experience in drafting pleadings, arguing substantive motions in court, written discovery, taking and defending depositions, and other facets of the litigation process;

Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy skills;

The ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines;

Experience participating in the development of a strategy for written and deposition discovery;

Ability to distill research into meaningful and persuasive written work product and to work meticulously to ensure the quality of work product.

Ideal candidates will also have:

A team mindset while assisting with preparation for trials and evidentiary hearings;

Confidence in serving as a representative of clients and our firm while meeting and conferring with opposing counsel;

A willingness to be proactive and take ownership of projects and assignments;

Excellent research and analytical skills as well as clear and concise verbal and written communication skills; and

A demonstrated dedication to client service.
