Duties:

• Evaluate newly assigned matters and develop case strategy, action plans, and estimated budgets

• Draft and oversee the preparation of pleadings, motions, and discovery responses

• Manage document review and production with support from paralegals

• Participate in depositions, court appearances, and settlement negotiations

• Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, or trial when necessary

• Maintain regular communication with support staff to ensure progress and compliance with deadlines

• Collaborate with supervising attorneys and adhere to internal case management standards

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of litigation experience, ideally in insurance defense or a related field

• Current license to practice law in the State of New York

• Familiarity with court procedures, discovery processes, and case strategy

• Ability to manage caseloads independently with minimal oversight

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New York State Bar (mandatory)

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent written and oral communication

• Organizational proficiency with high attention to detail
