Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking a highly experienced Senior eDiscovery Attorney to lead and manage complex eDiscovery matters across high-stakes litigation, antitrust cases, and regulatory investigations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing discovery strategy and execution, guiding internal teams, and negotiating discovery terms with opposing counsel and government agencies. This role offers a leadership opportunity within a technology-forward litigation team and allows for hybrid or remote work in approved jurisdictions.
Location:
Duties:
Develop and execute comprehensive eDiscovery strategies for litigation and regulatory matters
Coordinate document collection, review, and production workflows
Liaise between case teams, clients, and eDiscovery vendors
Create and manage privilege logs and quality control processes
Draft and negotiate TAR, ESI, confidentiality, and search protocols with opposing parties
Lead custodian interviews and determine collection scope and processes
Participate in and lead meet-and-confer sessions with government agencies or adversaries
Prepare discovery budgets and oversee vendor engagement and cost management
Draft and revise responses to subpoenas and RFPs
Research discovery-related case law across jurisdictions to support motion practice
Advise attorneys on eDiscovery law, technology, best practices, and cross-border data considerations
Lead internal training and stay current on trends in discovery, technology, and privacy
Work on special projects as needed by the litigation and firm leadership teams
Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing eDiscovery in complex litigation
Demonstrated leadership in large-scale discovery projects, including antitrust and Second Request matters
Experience negotiating with regulatory agencies and opposing counsel on discovery strategy
Proven ability to handle multiple concurrent projects with minimal oversight
Familiarity with litigation protocols across state and federal courts
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Licensed to practice in the state of office location or eligible for admission
Skills:
Deep understanding of the eDiscovery lifecycle, including analytics, TAR, and Relativity
Knowledge of privilege and work product doctrines
Strong written and verbal communication, including drafting court and client-facing materials
Strategic thinker with high-level problem-solving and project management skills
Ability to educate, lead, and mentor attorneys in discovery-related issues
Technologically proficient and adaptable to evolving platforms and legal tech
