Duties

• Represent plaintiffs or defendants in civil defamation litigation.
• Evaluate the merits of potential defamation claims and defenses under Georgia and federal law.
• Conduct pre-suit investigations and preserve digital/social media evidence.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and experts.
• Appear in court for hearings, arguments, and trials.
• Collaborate with PR consultants, digital forensic experts, and third-party investigators.
• Advise clients on defamation risk and reputation management strategies.
• Stay current on evolving media, internet law, and free speech jurisprudence.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active Georgia Bar license in good standing.
• Minimum 3-7 years of civil litigation experience, with a focus on defamation or torts preferred.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with digital evidence and online platforms.
• Strong negotiation and settlement skills.
• Trial experience or mock trial experience preferred.

Education
