A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney with over four years of experience in Business and Commercial Litigation for its downtown Houston, TX office. The ideal candidate will have trial experience and a strong ability to manage a diverse caseload in state and federal courts.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of commercial litigation matters from inception through trial or settlement.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, and mediation with witness responsibility.
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes.
• Comply with all legal standards and regulations.
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Texas State Bar and in good standing.
• Previous experience in a law firm environment.
• Ability to take and defend depositions.
• Familiarity with various legal documents.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build rapport with clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Texas State Bar.
