A law firm seeks a litigation attorney in Farmingdale, NY, to manage a general personal injury caseload. This role offers the opportunity to handle cases from intake through resolution, working with a collaborative team dedicated to achieving client results.

Duties

• Manage an active caseload of personal injury matters in New York state and federal courts.
• Litigate cases including motor vehicle, premises liability, and construction law.
• Conduct all phases of litigation, including depositions and court appearances.
• Collaborate with experts and manage discovery for cases requiring expert testimony.
• Assist in trial preparation and presentation; trial work is encouraged but not mandatory.
• Participate in file reviews, strategy meetings, and firm trainings.

Requirements

• Active New York bar license in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience.
• Experience with automobile, trip and fall, premises liability, or construction accident cases.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and legal research skills.
• Deposition and courtroom experience; trial experience is a plus.
• Professional client service skills and sound judgment.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills

• Experience with wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims.
• Ability to handle complex personal injury matters with multiple experts.
• Proficiency in preparing witnesses and managing depositions.
• Experience with legal case management systems like SmartAdvocate.
