Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Associate to join its Privacy & Cybersecurity practice. The ideal candidate will have 4–6 years of experience advising on U.S.-focused privacy compliance, with an emphasis on counseling, gap assessments, program development, and regulatory implementation. This role offers direct client interface, meaningful project ownership, and the opportunity to work in a collaborative, forward-thinking legal environment.

Duties:
Advise clients on U.S. state privacy law compliance, including CCPA, WA MHMD, and other emerging regulations
Lead compliance gap assessments and build practical, risk-aligned compliance programs
Draft privacy policies, internal guidance, incident response plans, DSR procedures, and contractual frameworks
Provide regulatory advice on data sharing, targeted advertising, and cookies/online tracking
Support clients in the financial and health/life sciences sectors on matters related to GLBA, HIPAA, CalFIPA, FCRA, and similar laws
Collaborate with supervising partners and provide guidance to junior attorneys and paralegals as needed
Manage or co-lead large-scale data privacy projects with minimal supervision
Draft and negotiate data privacy-related agreements and contracting playbooks
Requirements:
4–6 years of hands-on privacy counseling experience in a law firm environment
Deep understanding of state privacy laws and sector-specific regulations (health and financial sectors strongly preferred)
Prior experience in adtech, cookies/trackers, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and self-regulatory frameworks (e.g., DAA, NAI, IAB)
Ability to frame legal analysis practically and based on client risk profiles
Strong track record managing or leading projects or segments of complex legal matters
Large law firm experience required (select boutique experience may be considered)
Must be admitted to practice in the relevant jurisdiction
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications (Preferred):
Certified Information Privacy Professional (e.g., CIPP-US, CIPT, CIPM)
Skills:
