Job Overview:
A nationally recognized law firm is seeking a junior to mid-level Associate Attorney (2nd to 4th year) to join its Data, Privacy, and Cybersecurity practice group. This role will involve advising high-growth and established companies on managing cybersecurity incidents, navigating privacy regulations, and supporting transactional matters involving sensitive data and technology. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in the ongoing development of the firm’s cybersecurity and privacy capabilities. Recruitment is being conducted on behalf of the firm.

Duties:
Advise clients during all phases of cybersecurity incidents, including investigation and regulatory response
Provide counsel on data privacy and security laws, including U.S. state and federal regulations and global frameworks like GDPR
Draft privacy policies, data processing agreements, and incident response protocols
Support data-related aspects of M&A, tech transactions, and other commercial deals
Counsel cybersecurity firms on compliance related to research, threat intelligence, and infrastructure
Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups to address complex data and technology legal issues
Requirements:
2–4 years of legal experience in cybersecurity, privacy, regulatory compliance, or technology transactions
Experience in cybersecurity investigations, incident response, or related regulatory matters is preferred
Background in working with technology companies or regulatory bodies is a plus
Demonstrated interest in emerging issues in data protection and cybersecurity law
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
Strong academic credentials required
Certifications:
Active membership in good standing with the bar of the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) is preferred but not required
Skills:
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong legal research and drafting abilities
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple client matters simultaneously
Strategic thinker with a solution-oriented mindset
Comfortable working with both legal and technical subject matter
