Job Overview:
A respected family law firm with offices in the Pacific Northwest is seeking a Senior Family Law Attorney to join its Vancouver, WA office. This role is ideal for a collaborative and driven attorney who thrives in a team-based, fast-paced legal environment and has significant experience in family law matters, particularly those involving Family Abuse Prevention Act (FAPA) cases. The position involves both independent case management and support on complex matters, with the opportunity to work closely with senior attorneys, paralegals, and leadership on delivering exceptional legal service to clients.

Duties:
Deliver high-quality legal services in all aspects of family law
Independently manage a caseload involving custody, divorce, support, and FAPA matters
Prepare and draft legal documents including pleadings, declarations, motions, and settlement agreements
Collaborate with senior attorneys on strategy for complex or high-conflict cases
Regularly communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and courts
Appear in court for hearings, mediations, and trials as needed
Supervise staff and support team members within the practice group
Participate in business development and firm-sponsored networking functions
Ensure compliance with legal standards, ethical obligations, and internal firm practices
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience practicing family law
Demonstrated experience handling matters involving FAPAs, asset division, custody, child/spousal support
Experience with trial preparation and courtroom litigation
Prior experience managing client relationships and supervising legal staff
Commitment to high-level client service and responsiveness
Ability to manage multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active member of the Oregon State Bar (required)
Washington State Bar membership (preferred or willingness to obtain)
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in case management systems and Microsoft Office applications
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative culture
Comfortable mentoring and supervising junior staff and paralegals
