Job Overview

A law firm seeks a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Foreclosure/Title Attorney in Newport News, VA. The ideal candidate will have experience with foreclosure matters, including title review, title curative work, and resolution of title issues related to default properties while ensuring compliance with North Carolina foreclosure laws and procedures.

Duties

  • Second review title reports to identify defects impacting foreclosure proceedings.
  • Analyze and resolve title issues, relating to legal description, liens, judgments, and ownership discrepancies.
  • Perform title curative work, including reviewing affidavits, satisfactions, deeds, releases, and other corrective instruments.
  • Maintain accurate case management and meet strict deadlines in a high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate.
  • 3+ years of experience preferred.
  • Member in good standing of the North Carolina State Bar.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize large caseload.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effectively communicates with all clients via client systems, e-mail, and phone.
  • Provides exceptional client service.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management, and attendance.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented, while working at a fast pace and capable of multi-tasking.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate.

  • Active licensure in North Carolina.
