A law firm seeks a mid-level associate with 5 to 8 years of litigation experience to join its trial and defense team in Los Angeles, CA. This role involves defending public and private entities in high-exposure matters, including employment disputes, personal injuries, and class actions. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in depositions, discovery, and motion practice, and must possess excellent research and writing skills.

Duties

• Manage a caseload of 10-20 matters.
• Investigate claims and develop case strategies.
• Draft and respond to discovery requests.
• Review and analyze documents for production.
• Conduct legal research using Westlaw.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft and submit pleadings and motions.
• Attend hearings and argue motions.
• Prepare pre-trial and trial documents.
• Prepare cases for mediation/trial and participate in mediation/trial.
• Report effectively to clients.

Requirements

• Admission to the bar in California.
• Extensive experience in all aspects of litigation.
• Exceptional legal writing and communication skills.
• Effective oral advocacy skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

Education

• Possess excellent academic credentials from a reputable law school.

Certifications
