A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney in New York, New York. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in removal defense, appeals, family-based immigration, and business immigration matters.

Duties

• Represent clients in removal defense matters before the Immigration Court.
• Prepare clients for and conduct asylum interviews with USCIS.
• Draft and file legal briefs, including BIA briefs and Circuit Court appeals.
• Handle family-based immigration matters, such as I-130 petitions and naturalization.
• Develop legal strategies tailored to each client's circumstances.
• Review and supervise paralegal work and support staff contributions.
• Maintain proactive communication with clients throughout their case.
• Track deadlines and manage a dynamic caseload with diligence.

Requirements

• Licensed attorney in good standing with any U.S. State Bar.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in immigration law.
• Experience in BIA and Circuit Court brief writing and appellate work.
• Understanding of asylum law, immigration court procedure, and USCIS processes.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced setting.
• Team player with a strong work ethic and client-centered approach.
• Russian fluency is a plus, but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

• Bar admission in any U.S. state.
