A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Immigration Lawyer in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in client representation and a passion for mentoring emerging legal professionals. This role requires expertise in managing a substantial caseload and proficiency in all trial process aspects, including drafting pleadings and motions.

Duties

• Prepare legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
• Represent clients in court, arguing motions during proceedings.
• Provide guidance to associate attorneys and paralegals.
• Conduct legal research and prepare briefs.
• Stay informed on local, state, and federal law changes.
• Represent clients before EOIR and USCIS in various immigration matters.
• Develop case strategies for removal defense and other immigration reliefs.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings.
• Supervise paralegals in preparing case filings and exhibits.

Requirements

• Ability to manage a heavy caseload independently.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior associate in the legal field.
• Strong time management and interpersonal skills.
• Active membership in good standing with local and state bar associations.
• Experience in trials, mediation, and arbitration.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in any U.S. state.

Skills

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in immigration law.
• Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills.
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish or Russian preferred).
• Commitment to immigrant rights and client advocacy.
