Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Brooklyn, New York, to join their expanding practice. The firm represents clients in Family Law, Immigration Law, and Civil Litigation, offering a meaningful opportunity for an attorney passionate about courtroom advocacy and community-focused legal services.

Duties

  • Manage an active caseload involving divorce, custody, support disputes, immigration petitions, removal defense, and general civil litigation.
  • Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery responses, affidavits, and memorandums of law.
  • Appear in New York Family Courts, Supreme Court, Federal immigration courts, USCIS interviews, and related proceedings.
  • Conduct legal research and develop case strategies under the guidance of senior attorneys.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, providing compassionate and solution-oriented legal counsel.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the New York Bar (or bar results pending with eligibility to practice under supervision).
  • 1-3 years of litigation or relevant practice experience preferred; motivated entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent research, writing, and verbal advocacy skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism, discretion, and empathy.
  • Bilingual proficiency, especially in Spanish, Russian, or another commonly spoken language in NYC communities, is a plus.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications
