Divorce and Family Law Attorney

A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a Divorce and Family Law Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of legal experience, with a focus on family law. This role involves meeting with clients, developing case strategies, attending court appearances, drafting legal documents, and generating new cases. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, and candidates must be a members of the North Carolina State Bar in good standing.

Job Duties:

• Meet with prospective and current clients to discuss case details and develop strategies.
• Prepare for and attend court appearances on behalf of clients.
• Draft letters, pleadings, and other legal documents related to divorce and family law cases.
• Meet billing requirements set by the firm.
• Generate new cases through networking, referrals, and marketing efforts.
• Travel to surrounding counties as needed for court appearances and client meetings.
• Delegate work to paralegals and legal assistants, and monitor their progress.
• Provide mentorship and inspiration to other team members.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of legal experience as an attorney, preferably in family law.
• Membership in the North Carolina State Bar and good standing.
• Strong communication, research, and writing skills.
• Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the North Carolina State Bar.
