Intellectual Property Associate Attorney

Profile

A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking an Intellectual Property Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience in trademark work. Additional experience in copyright, privacy, trade secrets, and false advertising is desirable.

Duties:

• Handle trademark matters, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation.
• Assist with copyright registration, infringement analysis, and enforcement efforts.
• Provide counsel on privacy laws, trade secret protection, and false advertising issues.
• Draft and negotiate IP-related agreements such as licensing agreements and cease and desist letters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on various IP issues.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.
• 2-3 years of relevant experience in trademark law.
• Familiarity with copyright, privacy, trade secrets, and false advertising laws.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar or eligibility for reciprocity.
