Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation in key practice areas such as local government law, commercial real estate, public finance, and more.
• Manage complex litigation and offer expert defense in business-related disputes.
• Advise clients on business matters, including mergers and acquisitions, trusts & estates, and corporate issues.
• Build and maintain a portable client base and generate business opportunities.
• Collaborate with colleagues across practice areas to provide comprehensive legal services.
• Stay current with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide effective legal solutions.
• Assist with the growth and development of the firm’s reputation in the community.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active license to practice law in North Carolina and/or Virginia.
• A portable client base or demonstrated business origination capability of $200,000 or more annually.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to grow and manage a client base.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Proven business development skills and client management expertise.

Education:

• JD from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active State Bar license in North Carolina and/or Virginia.

Skills:

• Strong business development and client relationship management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
• In-depth understanding of business law, litigation defense, and relevant legal practices.
• Ability to manage complex cases and provide strategic legal guidance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal research tools.
