A law firm seeks a Senior Litigation Attorney in Paramus, New Jersey. This role is ideal for an attorney with 7 to 10 years of litigation experience, ready to manage complex civil cases from inception through trial and appeal. The attorney will handle a diverse caseload, including commercial litigation, public entity defense, and more, while working closely with partners and associates.

Duties

• Independently manage complex civil litigation in New Jersey state and federal courts.
• Handle all litigation phases from inception through trial and appeal.
• Serve as first or second-chair trial attorney in various proceedings.
• Oversee public entity defense and prosecute affirmative claims.
• Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
• Draft and argue substantive motions in state and federal courts.
• Prepare and file appellate briefs in appellate courts.
• Negotiate and draft settlement agreements.
• Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, and mediations.
• Maintain client communication and provide strategic legal counsel.
• Mentor and supervise junior associates.

Requirements

• 7 to 10 years of substantive civil litigation experience.
• Demonstrated in-court experience.
• Experience in New Jersey state and federal courts.
• Proven track record of managing complex litigation matters.
• Experience conducting and defending depositions.
• Experience drafting and arguing substantive motions.
• Experience with appellate practice.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission in good standing to practice law in New Jersey.
• Admission to the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Skills
