Job Overview:
A law firm located in Aliso Viejo, CA, is seeking a highly motivated Transactional Attorney with a focus on real estate and business law. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of two years of experience handling transactional matters, ideally with exposure to homeowners association (HOA) law. This position is available on a hybrid basis, offering flexibility while engaging in sophisticated legal work in a collaborative and client-focused environment.
Duties:
Draft and negotiate a variety of business and real estate contracts
Provide legal counsel on transactional matters involving commercial and residential real estate
Support clients with corporate formation, governance, and regulatory compliance
Conduct legal research and prepare formal memoranda and opinion letters
Engage with clients to deliver legal solutions aligned with business objectives
Maintain accurate records and case management using legal technology platforms
Collaborate with colleagues on complex cases, leveraging a team-based approach
Participate in firm-wide meetings and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives
Requirements:
Minimum of 2 years of relevant legal experience in transactional work (real estate or business law)
Strong contract drafting and legal analysis skills
Familiarity with laws affecting HOAs is highly preferred
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Professional demeanor with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active member in good standing with the State Bar of California
Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, including advanced formatting
Competence with Adobe Acrobat, including PDF editing features
Familiarity with legal practice management software (Clio Manage experience a plus)
Strong research capabilities using legal databases and resources
Ability to maintain client confidentiality and exercise sound legal judgment
