Bernard J. Beazley Chair - Health Law and Policy

The candidate will be part of a dynamic, engaged faculty supporting the Beazley Institute. Work in a collaborative fashion with faculty and staff to develop innovative programming, student outreach experiences and participate fully in the life of the Beazley Institute and the School of Law is imperative for a successful candidate. Must have an exemplary record of teaching, research and service warranting appointment at the rank of full professor with tenure and the accomplishment and future promise worthy of appointment at the chair level. The responsibilities include: Scholarly research and publication; Teaching courses in health law and policy and related areas of individual expertise; Providing leadership in research and teaching in the area of regulatory health law; Participation in faculty governance; Active involvement in student mentoring and counseling; Engagement with faculty on health law and policy matters both within the School of Law and throughout the University; Together with other chairs and senior faculty, providing leadership for integrative research activities; and Significant engagement with academic institutions and professional organizations in health law and policy, including frequent participation in meetings and symposia. Must have a Juris Doctor degree. Should have significant practice experience in health law and policy, especially in the area of regulatory health law. Must have broad recognition for scholarly distinction in a recognized area of health law and policy. Established publication record in health law and policy is required. Extensive teaching experience is needed. Must have interest in and past experience in teaching in the first year curriculum.
