Job Overview: A respected legal recruitment firm is seeking an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney to join a well-established law firm. The position involves handling a high volume of litigation cases from inception through trial, ensuring compliance with the firm’s litigation guidelines. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in insurance defense, particularly in areas such as automobile liability, premises liability, and high-exposure cases. This full-time role offers the opportunity to manage complex litigation while providing high-quality legal representation to clients.

Duties:

• Draft responses to summonses and complaints
• Initiate and respond to written discovery requests
• Prepare and argue motions in court
• Represent clients in all court appearances, including arbitrations
• Schedule and conduct depositions and examinations under oath
• Prepare for and attend trials, managing cases through verdict when necessary
• Maintain consistent file reporting and case management, including file reviews and diary control

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. law school
• Active bar membership in good standing
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, particularly in areas like automobile liability, premises liability, and high-exposure cases
• Experience in all phases of litigation, including trials to verdict
• Strong understanding of insurance law and civil practice rules
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and identify relevant case law

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active state bar membership (required)

• Expertise in insurance defense litigation
• Proficiency in legal research, drafting, and courtroom procedures
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines
