Assistant Vice President for Policy and Regulatory Affairs

The candidate will report to the Vice President for Policy and Regulatory Affairs. Will advice and provide strategic guidance to the executive management team and various operating units on sponsored programs, research and development, new initiatives, agreements and government compliance. Research, review and advise on procurements, non-disclosure agreements, contracts, intellectual property and tech transfer matters and technology industry related matters. Prepare various template agreements for internal clients as well as assist with negotiating complex, multi-faceted business agreements. Work with external counsel and The Research Foundation Office of General Counsel on specific projects, e.g., IP related matters or legal actions, as needed. Perform tech transfer duties, including working on invention disclosures, patent applications and patent prosecutions with external counsel and The Research Foundation central office. Serve as the export compliance manager, including providing accurate, reliable interpretation of U.S. export control restrictions and ITAR; providing guidance and training to business teams regarding visitor management, technology disclosures, reporting and shipping; creating technology control plans as needed; and performing annual export assessment, identifying and researching potential export compliance risks, gaps and violations, and recommending and implementing prompt risk mitigation and resolution activities as applicable. Perform such other reasonable duties as may be assigned by or through the Vice President for Policy and Regulatory Affairs
