Job Overview

A respected national litigation firm is seeking an Insurance Coverage & Litigation Associate Attorney for its Denver, Colorado office. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work with a collaborative and experienced team handling complex insurance coverage and litigation matters across the U.S. The position is ideal for attorneys with experience in coverage analysis, litigation, and working with both domestic and foreign insurers. Hybrid or fully remote work arrangements are available.

Location

Duties

• Draft pleadings, legal memoranda, discovery responses, motions, and briefs

• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations

• Provide legal counsel and draft detailed insurance coverage opinion letters

• Conduct coverage analysis in areas such as CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, and intellectual property

• Represent insurers in coverage litigation matters

• Draft discovery requests and responses, handle pretrial motions, and manage litigation workflow

• Communicate regularly with clients and provide strategic updates and case analysis

• Collaborate with attorneys and staff across multiple offices

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of defense litigation experience

• At least 1 year of insurance coverage or coverage litigation experience

• Experience with both third-party and first-party insurance claims

• Background in drafting discovery and pretrial motions required

• Experience cross-examining fact witnesses preferred

• Trial experience considered a plus

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the state of Colorado

Skills

• Superior legal research, writing, and analytical abilities

• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills

• Proven ability to manage multiple matters with attention to detail

• Experience with complex legal analysis and client advisement

• Technological proficiency with litigation tools and document management systems
