Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a skilled Senior Associate with deep experience in insurance coverage and related litigation matters. This role focuses on representing domestic insurers in advisory and litigation matters involving general liability and excess policies. The position offers the opportunity to work with a seasoned legal team, manage high-impact cases, and provide strategic counsel to clients across complex insurance matters.

Duties:

• Provide an in-depth analysis of insurance policy obligations and rights

• Draft comprehensive coverage opinions and communicate strategic advice to clients

• Conduct detailed legal research and draft supporting memoranda

• Prepare pleadings, discovery documents, motions, and related legal correspondence

• Participate in client meetings, negotiations, depositions, hearings, and mediations

• Oversee matter timelines, deadlines, and effective communication strategies

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery

Requirements:

• Active Bar admission in California (additional admission in Nevada, Oregon, or Washington is advantageous)

• Relevant experience in insurance coverage and litigation

• Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters independently

• Strong writing and analytical capabilities

• Comfortable interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties

• Able to handle high-volume work and tight deadlines

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in California (mandatory)

• Admission in other West Coast jurisdictions (preferred)

Skills:

• Expertise in insurance law and coverage litigation

• Exceptional legal research, drafting, and communication skills

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities

• Proactive problem-solving mindset

• Ability to manage multiple complex assignments concurrently
