Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Grand Rapids, MI. The role involves attending civil court hearings across Michigan, preparing legal pleadings, conducting legal research, and negotiating settlements. This is an in-office position.

Duties

• Attend 5 to 15 civil court hearings weekly, virtually and/or in person.
• Prepare legal pleadings and conduct legal research.
• Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with managing attorney to report activities and results.

Requirements

• Dependable with a strong court and work ethic.
• Detail-oriented and well-organized.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
• Capable of multi-tasking in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, LexisNexis, and/or Westlaw.

Education

• Juris Doctorate.

Certifications

• Admitted to MI State Bar (MT, IN, and OH a plus).
