Finance and Restructuring Litigation Associate - Native American Law

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a skilled associate to join its Native American litigation team. This position offers an opportunity to represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members on complex issues involving tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination. The associate will also handle complex commercial and construction disputes. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience or a strong interest in Federal Indian Law, litigation, and administrative law.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Represent tribes, tribal entities, and tribal members in legal matters involving tribal sovereignty, gaming, and self-determination.
• Manage and litigate complex commercial and construction disputes.
• Participate in trials, depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
• Provide legal counsel and analysis on administrative law issues.
• Draft motions, legal briefs, and other court filings.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic insights to senior attorneys and clients.
• Maintain a high level of organization in managing multiple cases simultaneously.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop case strategies and resolve issues.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of litigation experience or strong interest in Federal Indian Law.
• Trial, deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on legal writing and analysis.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and interact with clients.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction(s).

Skills:

• Strong research, writing, and analytical abilities.
• Knowledge of Federal Indian Law and administrative law.
• Proven ability to manage complex litigation cases.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
