Job Overview:
A Los Angeles-based law firm known for its dedication to immigrant rights and legal advocacy is seeking a motivated Associate Immigration Attorney. Duties:

• Provide detailed explanations of immigration law concepts and available legal options

• Advocate for detained and non-detained individuals before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Handle case intake and strategy development for detained individuals at holding centers

• Draft and submit a wide range of immigration applications, including family-based and humanitarian petitions

• Review and revise immigration case packets for accuracy and legal sufficiency

• Collaborate with law enforcement, community organizations, and prosecutors on immigration law matters

• Conduct in-depth consultations with prospective clients to assess case strategies

• Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings and interviews with USCIS and immigration judges

• Analyze legal issues and determine potential avenues for relief or benefits

• Write and file legal briefs supporting various immigration cases

Requirements:

• 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and legal support staff

• Strong interpersonal communication and advocacy skills

• Proficiency in handling a varied immigration caseload efficiently

• Working knowledge of USCIS processes, EOIR, and detained proceedings

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

• Active license to practice law in any U.S. jurisdiction

Certifications:

• Bar admission in good standing (any state or federal jurisdiction)

Skills:

• Fluency in English; Spanish language proficiency highly preferred

• Experience using legal case management software

• Strategic thinking and the ability to work independently on complex matters

• Ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities in a legal environment
