A law firm seeks an attorney in Long Beach, CA, to join their growing litigation team. This full-time position offers a blend of on-site and remote work, focusing on high-stakes business litigation and employment defense.

Duties

• Handle sophisticated litigation matters with significant stakes.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct extensive California discovery.
• Prepare for and participate in trials and binding arbitrations.
• Provide legal advice and strategic counsel to clients.
• Conduct legal research and draft complex pleadings and motions.
• For senior attorneys: Run cases independently and supervise/mentor junior attorneys.
• Participate in firm marketing and business development initiatives.

Requirements

• For Associate Position: 3-7 years of litigation experience.
• For Senior Counsel Position: 8+ years of litigation experience.
• Strong deposition-taking skills and interest in trial work.
• Substantial California discovery experience.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and negotiation skills.
• Active California State Bar membership.
• Experience in practice areas or demonstrated ability to learn quickly.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

• Strong client relationship and business development skills.
• Proven track record in case management and trial work.
• Ability to supervise and mentor junior attorneys.
