Job Title: Associate Attorney - Commercial Litigation
Job Overview:
A respected Houston-based law firm is seeking a driven and experienced Associate Attorney to support its litigation team. This role involves representing clients in civil disputes across business, real estate, and construction matters. The position offers the opportunity to handle matters from intake through trial, while contributing to a collaborative and client-focused legal environment.
Duties:
Manage the full lifecycle of litigation cases, including initial filings through trial
Handle depositions, hearings, and court appearances independently
Draft pleadings, complex motions, and legal briefs with minimal supervision
Participate in mediation and settlement discussions to resolve matters favorably
Conduct in-depth legal research and provide strategic legal analysis
Maintain regular and professional communication with clients
Collaborate with fellow attorneys and legal staff to advance case strategies
Develop and maintain strong client relationships and support firm growth
Remain current on relevant statutory and case law updates
Potential to receive origination incentives for new client matters
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in civil litigation
Active license to practice law in Texas
Resides in Texas and is available for in-person hearings, meetings, and court appearances
Demonstrated ability to manage caseloads with efficiency and autonomy
Familiarity with real estate, construction, and commercial litigation practices
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas
Skills:
Strong litigation, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills
Excellent client interaction and negotiation capabilities
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Professional demeanor and ability to manage sensitive information confidentially
Organizational skills to handle complex case management and competing deadlines
