Location:

Duties:

• Draft high-level legal documents including:

  • Discovery motions (e.g., motions to compel, sanctions, protective orders)

  • Summary judgment/adjudication motions and oppositions

  • Evidentiary motions (e.g., in limine, Daubert/Kelly challenges)

  • Trial-related documents (e.g., trial briefs, jury instructions, verdict forms)

  • Post-trial motions (e.g., JNOV, new trial motions)

  • Appellate submissions (e.g., writs, appeal briefs)

  • Settlement materials (e.g., mediation briefs, mandatory settlement statements)

• Develop innovative legal theories and case strategies

• Synthesize complex medical, scientific, and technical data into persuasive legal arguments

• Collaborate with trial attorneys, experts, and clients on landmark litigation

• Contribute to firmwide legal tactics on high-value cases

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on personal injury or complex torts

• Proven success with dispositive motions, trial motions, and appeals in state and federal court

• Exceptional legal research and writing skills

• Deep understanding of California and federal civil procedure

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a high-performance environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in California

• Law review experience preferred

Skills:

• Mastery of persuasive legal writing and argumentation

• Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis)

• Strong analytical and strategic thinking

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Ability to interpret and present complex medical/scientific information clearly
