Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Commercial Finance and Transactions Associate to join its practice in Macomb, Michigan. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structuring, negotiating, and documenting complex financial and commercial agreements, as well as representing clients in related legal matters.

Duties

• Provide legal advice to borrowers and lenders on commercial finance and lending matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations for financial transactions.
• Conduct due diligence investigations for financial transactions.
• Draft and negotiate financial and commercial agreements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in commercial lending and finance.
• Strong research, drafting, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
• Licensed or willing to become licensed to practice law in Michigan.
• Ability to meet physical requirements, including prolonged sitting/standing and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission in good standing to at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
