Duties

  • Represent labor unions in a range of private and public sectors, including municipal employees, healthcare providers, teamsters, and building trades.
  • Conduct legal research, draft persuasive legal documents, and deliver effective presentations.
  • Manage litigation, arbitration, and traditional labor representation cases.
  • Appear before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and Public Employment Relations Commission (PERC) as necessary.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for complex labor law matters.
  • Provide guidance on compliance and legal strategies related to union representation.

Requirements

  • Experience: 2–3 years of experience in labor or employment law is preferred, but experience in other legal areas will be considered.
  • Bar Admission: Active admission to the Washington State Bar or eligibility to obtain admission.
  • Skills:
    • Strong legal research and writing capabilities.
    • Effective communication and presentation abilities.
    • Detail-oriented and organized with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with litigation, arbitration, and handling cases before NLRB and PERC.

Education

  • Degree: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the Washington State Bar or eligibility for admission.
