Job Overview

A law firm seeks a litigation associate attorney to join its Los Angeles office in Century City. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of California state and federal litigation experience in a mid to large-sized law firm, supporting complex commercial, real estate, entertainment, employment, and intellectual property litigation matters. This position is primarily in-office with flexibility to work remotely as appropriate based on assignments and business needs.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of litigation and case management from preparing responsive pleadings to trial.
• Interview witnesses and oversee fact-gathering for case development.
• Evaluate claims and defenses to develop recommendations for case strategy.
• Draft motions, pleadings, position statements, and mediation briefs.
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests and meet/confer letters.
• Handle discovery, document productions, and ESI.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Appear for court hearings/conferences, and ADR proceedings (mediation/arbitration).
• Negotiate with opposing counsel to resolve discovery disputes, facilitate settlements, etc.
• Trial preparation.
• Develop and maintain strong business and client relationships.

Requirements

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in the State of California.
• In good standing with the State Bar of California.
• Admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Central, Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts of California (or will seek such admission promptly).
• At least three years of experience litigating matters in both state and federal courts in California.

Education

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the State of California.
