A law firm seeks an experienced Attorney specializing in Contested Foreclosure Litigation to join their team in Tallahassee, FL. This full-time role involves managing cases from initiation through trial, focusing on contested matters. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Florida foreclosure law and demonstrate strong courtroom skills.

Duties

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents with precision.
• Conduct depositions and manage discovery processes.
• Perform legal research and apply case law and statutes to client matters.
• Appear at depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences statewide.
• Negotiate settlements and consent judgments on behalf of clients.
• Evaluate and communicate risk and strategic recommendations to clients.
• Handle cases from inception through final judgment and trial.
• Collaborate with client witnesses and loan processors.
• Maintain accurate time records and provide monthly file updates.
• Communicate with opposing counsel, clients, and court staff.
• Travel throughout Florida as needed for case assignments.
• Utilize technology platforms for efficient file management.

Requirements

• Active Florida Bar membership in good standing.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure litigation.
• Ability to draft sophisticated legal documents independently.
• Proven experience in conducting depositions and managing discovery.
• Strong knowledge of Florida foreclosure statutes and case law.
• Excellent verbal communication and courtroom presentation skills.
• Capacity to manage a substantial caseload with minimal supervision.
• Availability for statewide travel as required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active membership in the Florida Bar.
