Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced litigation attorney for a remote position, preferably based in San Francisco, San Jose, or the surrounding area. The role involves defending general liability, premises liability, and commercial automobile claims within the firm's active insurance defense practice in California.

Duties

• Manage cases from inception through trial, including case and risk assessment, pleadings, and discovery.
• Handle depositions, retain and work with expert witnesses, and prepare for trial.
• Appear in person for court hearings, depositions, and site inspections as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with clients, claims professionals, and opposing counsel.
• Collaborate with case teams and participate in weekly virtual meetings.
• Consistently enter billable time entries on a daily basis.

Requirements

• JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• License to practice law in California.
• Minimum of 10 years of litigation experience, focusing on third-party insurance defense claims.
• Willingness to travel for court appearances and other in-person obligations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• California license to practice law.
