Antitrust Associate Attorney
A distinguished law firm based in Washington, DC ,seeks a seasoned attorney to support its Antitrust and Competition practice. This opportunity is ideal for a legal professional with hands-on experience in merger clearance and regulatory review processes, particularly under U.S. antitrust law. The role encompasses transactional advising, strategic analysis, and litigation support across a broad range of industries and complex corporate structures.
Provide legal analysis and guidance on U.S. antitrust matters, particularly involving mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.
Conduct antitrust risk assessments and develop clearance strategies for high-value corporate transactions.
Represent clients in filings with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the Department of Justice (DOJ), including Hart-Scott-Rodino (HSR) submissions.
Support or lead internal and external investigations related to antitrust compliance or enforcement actions.
Advise clients on unilateral conduct and antitrust exposure related to business strategies.
Assist with private litigation matters involving antitrust claims.
Draft memoranda, regulatory filings, and client communications with accuracy and attention to detail.
Collaborate across legal teams and departments to deliver multidisciplinary insights.
Minimum of 3 years of focused antitrust practice experience at a nationally respected law firm or relevant federal agency.
Demonstrated experience with merger clearance and familiarity with U.S. antitrust regulatory frameworks.
Deep understanding of FTC and DOJ protocols and antitrust litigation trends.
Excellent legal research, drafting, and analytical skills.
Strong client engagement abilities and professional judgment.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited U.S. law school.
Academic record demonstrating a high level of achievement.
Active membership in good standing with the Bar of at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Eligibility for District of Columbia Bar membership (or willingness to obtain).
Sharp attention to legal and factual detail.
Proficiency in managing deadlines and handling complex, time-sensitive matters.
Effective communicator in both written and spoken formats.
