Job Title: Trial Attorney - Premises Liability

Job Overview:
A Nashville-based law firm is seeking an experienced litigation attorney with a focus on premises liability to manage a high-volume docket from intake through jury verdict. This role is suited for a tenacious advocate who thrives in the courtroom and values a collaborative, high-performance legal team. The firm provides dedicated staff support, proprietary litigation tools, and a results-driven environment that fosters trial excellence and client advocacy.

Duties:

• Oversee a caseload of approximately 150 files, including 50+ active litigation matters monthly

• Serve as lead attorney in jury trials, maintaining full command of courtroom strategy and execution

• Conduct client consultations and maintain regular, transparent communication

• Develop case strategies and execute key litigation tasks, including depositions, motions, mediations, and hearings

• Draft pleadings, trial briefs, and other court filings with high attention to legal accuracy and persuasive clarity

• Collaborate with in-house legal teams, case managers, and paralegals for streamlined case handling

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience handling civil litigation or personal injury cases (plaintiff or defense)

• Preference for candidates with 5-8 years of litigation experience

• Demonstrated experience leading at least 5 jury trials as first chair; 10 or more preferred

• Deep understanding of applicable civil procedure and evidence rules

• Active license in good standing with the Tennessee State Bar

• Admission in multiple jurisdictions is considered an asset

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to practice law in Tennessee (required)

• Additional State Bar memberships (preferred)

Skills:

• Strong oral advocacy and courtroom presence

• Excellent legal writing and research capabilities

• Effective client communication and relationship-building

• Ability to manage a large and active docket independently

• Comfortable working with litigation support software and AI-driven legal tools
