Job Title: Intake Attorney (Immigration)
Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm based in Austin, TX is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with a passion for immigration law to join its Intake Team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a licensed attorney with 2–5 years of relevant experience to play a critical part in the initial assessment and development of client matters. The position involves client interaction, case analysis, legal strategy formulation, and collaboration with a skilled immigration legal team. Duties:
Monitor and review real-time updates within the firm’s legal intake system
Analyze intake documentation and preliminary case information submitted by prospective clients
Assess eligibility for various forms of immigration relief
Recommend appropriate legal options and proposed pathways for client matters
Engage with existing clients to discuss potential additional legal services
Provide clear legal information and procedural guidance to clients and prospects
Communicate case insights and client needs to the intake and client relations teams
Supervise and guide intake paralegals and remote administrative support staff
Requirements:
Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience in immigration law
Ability to manage a fluctuating intake caseload with attention to detail
Demonstrated record of strategic thinking and legal problem-solving
Capacity to collaborate effectively with other attorneys and team members
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Must be in good standing with a State Bar Association
Skills:
Strong interpersonal communication and active listening abilities
Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred
Proficiency in assessing family-based immigration matters, humanitarian claims, EOIR proceedings, and USCIS applications
Familiarity with legal practice management platforms is a plus
