Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Austin, Texas is seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney to join its well-established immigration practice. This role is ideal for a motivated attorney with 1 to 4 years of immigration law experience who is eager to manage a caseload, interact directly with clients, and collaborate with a team of skilled immigration professionals. Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Represent clients in immigration court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals in both detained and non-detained settings

  • Conduct strategic consultations with prospective clients

  • Prepare and file a wide variety of immigration applications, including family-based and removal defense petitions

  • Review and revise immigration application packets

  • Visit detention centers for client intake and case assessments

  • Develop legal strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for USCIS interviews and court hearings

  • Draft legal briefs and supporting documentation for immigration cases

  • Coordinate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and community organizations on immigration-related issues

  • Stay up-to-date on immigration law and policy changes

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and move legal cases forward

  • Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

  • Preferred bilingual ability in English and Spanish

  • Experience working with EOIR, family-based petitions, humanitarian relief, detained clients, citizenship, and USCIS applications

  • Familiarity with case management software is preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in any U.S. state or jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Legal writing and research proficiency

  • Strong courtroom and oral advocacy abilities

  • Strategic thinking and legal analysis

  • Efficient case management and documentation

  • Professional communication with clients and legal teams
