A respected law firm is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic legal team in Austin, TX. Duties:
Provide legal counsel and develop case strategies for immigration matters
Represent clients—both detained and non-detained—in Immigration Court and before the Board of Immigration Appeals
Conduct intakes and interviews with clients, including those in detention centers
Draft and file a wide range of immigration applications, including asylum, cancellation of removal, family-based petitions, and waivers
Review client applications and documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Prepare and present legal briefs and motions in support of client cases
Liaise with law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and prosecutors regarding immigration-related concerns
Assist clients with USCIS interviews and prepare witnesses for testimony
Monitor caseloads, track deadlines, and manage case progression
Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to ensure high-quality client service
Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of experience practicing immigration law
Experience with detained and non-detained removal defense cases
Demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently
Commitment to immigrant rights and social justice
Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active license to practice law in any U.S. state
Member in good standing with a state bar
Skills:
Excellent legal writing and oral advocacy skills
Strong interpersonal and client communication abilities
Knowledge of USCIS, EOIR, and BIA procedures
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills
Familiarity with case management software preferred
Team-oriented mindset with leadership capability
