Spring Internship

Interns will work closely with the professional staff on a variety of legislative projects. Will include attending hearings, preparing legislative reports, researching specific issues and compiling information to respond to constituents’ inquiries. Will be answering phones, purchasing supplies, and data entry are required and a critical piece of the internship. Learn the legislative process and gain valuable hands on experience. Interns learn the workings of a Congressional office and have the ability to network on the Hill. Students with a particular interest in environment, trade, economics, and community development are encouraged to apply. In district offices concentrate on researching constituent inquiries for information and help in dealing with federal agencies. In addition, accompany district staff to meetings of local civic and professional organizations. Some clerical work is expected.

Schedule: 10 hours per week

Term: January-May
