Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Santa Monica, CA, to join their Trusts and Estates practice. The role offers a small firm environment with a focus on work-life balance and direct client engagement. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work remotely on Fridays and handle a variety of matters, including estate planning, trust settlements, probates, and conservatorships.

Duties

• Advise clients on estate planning and draft estate plan documents independently.
• Consult with trustees or beneficiaries on trust administration, including court-supervised trusts.
• Manage probate administrations from initiation to discharge, including court appearances.
• Handle conservatorship matters from initiation to representation, including court appearances.
• Participate in other projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Two to three years of experience in probate, trust, and estate law.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Capability to multitask and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage cases and clients independently.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree.

Certifications

• Bar admission in the state of California.

Skills

• Experience with Wealth Counsel preferred.
