A law firm seeks a dynamic Trust and Estate Associate to join its Los Angeles office. The successful candidate will guide clients through wealth transitions with clear and creative estate planning. This role involves working with high-net-worth clients and complex family structures.

Duties

• Design and implement estate plans for high-net-worth clients.
• Structure charitable organizations and major gifts.
• Handle estate planning from initial interview to execution.
• Manage irrevocable trusts and complex estate planning.
• Prepare and review estate and gift tax returns.
• Conduct post-mortem trust administration.
• Engage in business development and networking activities.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience in a law firm Trusts & Estates group.
• California bar membership required.
• Strong academic credentials; Tax LL.M. a plus.
• Proven ability to manage a busy practice independently.
• Interest in contributing to the firm's success and mentoring junior members.
• Practical problem-solving skills and client confidence.

Education

• J.D. required; Tax LL.M. preferred.
