Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in downtown Houston is seeking an Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience in Business and Commercial Litigation. The firm represents clients in a wide range of commercial matters, including corporate, labor and employment, business, energy, oil and gas, probate, real estate, and bankruptcy law. The ideal candidate will manage complex litigation matters and provide legal advice in both state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration.

Location:

• Houston, TX

Duties:

• Manage a caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from inception to trial or settlement
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
• Prepare for and attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and manage witness responsibilities
• Advise clients on business and legal transactions
• Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
• Ensure compliance with all legal standards and regulations
• Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Business and Commercial Litigation
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing
• Previous experience in a law firm environment
• Ability to take and defend depositions
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build rapport and maintain client relationships
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of Texas and in good standing
