Job Overview

A law firm seeks an associate attorney to join its practice in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have trial experience, preferably in family law, and be able to excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while providing clients with quality representation.

Duties

• Manage family law, estate planning, probate, and estate litigation cases.
• Assist with other cases as needed.
• Prepare and draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests, and other documents.
• Take depositions and affidavits of clients and witnesses.
• Conduct and analyze legal research.
• Manage timelines and adapt to changes.
• Manage client expectations and demands.
• Handle multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience, preferably in family law.
• Experience in estate planning, probate, and estate litigation is a plus.
• Admission to Maryland Bar required; DC Bar admission is a plus.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Experience with Microsoft applications suite.
• Experience with case management software, preferably Clio.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Maryland Bar.

• Ability to manage multiple caseloads effectively.
