A well-established full-service litigation law firm is seeking an experienced Appellate Attorney to join its expanding Appellate Practice & Litigation Advisory Group. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of experience with a strong background in legal writing, research, and appellate litigation. This role involves preparing summary judgment motions, trial motions, and handling appellate work. The firm offers a flexible hybrid schedule and the opportunity to work from multiple office locations.

Duties

• Conduct legal research and draft high-quality appellate briefs, summary judgment motions, and trial motions
• Analyze complex legal issues and develop strong legal arguments
• Handle all aspects of appellate work, including briefing and oral arguments
• Monitor trials and provide strategic legal support
• Assist in excess monitoring and risk assessment for clients
• Collaborate with litigation teams to support trial preparation and post-trial motions

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in appellate law or litigation advisory work
• Proven expertise in legal writing, research, and argument development
• Strong analytical skills to evaluate case law and legal precedents
• Ability to manage multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience providing strategic legal support in trial and appellate settings

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York (Additional state bar admissions are a plus)
